S Saravanakumar, professor at Cumban College of Arts and Science, won a place in the search committee for the vice-chancellor of Bharathiyar University, on Friday with 114 votes.
Saravanakumar was the nominee of the senate and soon the government nominee will also be elected. Last week, syndicate members of the search committee were elected.
